Adidas unleash their adivan

So last week Thursday I was invited to another cool event, despite the impending rain at one stage and the urge to leave the event and go pee at Adidas’ toilets on the third floor

This time round Adidas showcased its adivan. It’s basically a huge trailer hooked onto the towbar of a van and it converts into like a portable showroom! It’s like a transformer of showrooms!

The idea is to take the van all over the country but I haven’t been asked to drive with them, cos I’m gonna charge too much

Zobuzwe Ngobese, the Public Relations Manager at adidas South Africa had this to say about the adivan: “We would like to showcase our technical running product to the entire running community in South Africa by taking the adiVan to major events around the country and the Two Oceans Marathon was the first event we went to”.

I was invited along with some media, guests and sports folk who are sponsored by Adidas. A good friend and undoubtedly one of the funniest MC’s in this country, Dan Nicholl, kept things going while mother nature poured down outside. The likes of Proteas captain Graeme Smith, Stormers captain Jean de Villiers, Olympians LJ van Zyl and Irvette van Blerk, Kama Billiat of Ajax Cape Town and Daine Klate of Orlando Pirates were also present. All sponsored by Adidas.

The event happened at Black River Park outside Adidas Head Office.

A full year schedule has been scheduled for the adivan to travel around SA make appearances at:

Running and other major sports events –Two Oceans, Comrades Marathon, adi-active runs Football matches, Rugby matches, Cricket matches etc
Major Shopping Malls and retail partners
partner activations with Orlando Pirates Football Club, Stormers Rugby, Cricket South Africa, Ajax Cape Town Football Club, Discovery Health, Virgin Active Gyms and various other adidas partners
