Early Saturday morning a Golden Arrow bus and a white Toyota Corolla collided at the corners of Spine and Church Roads in Strandfontein. Three matriculants at Mondale High School in Portland Mitchell’s Plain lost their lives. The fourth friend is said to be in hospital now stabilized after being in a coma. I’ve seen some pics of this accident and I don’t think it’s necessary for me to upload pics of a gruesome accident for the sake of sensationalism. It’s also very close to heart and home to have learners from the area I grow up in lose their young lives. Mondale High apparently had a vigil at the school in remembrance. Our sincere and heartfelt condolences go out to the family, friends and fellow learners of the 3 learners. It’s close to home also because the high school is in the same area as many of our thirTEEN hours Grade 11 youth project we run.
